In 1997, Kaye Eckerman decided to start K's O'Kasions, a wedding and
occasion rental store. For one year, she rented the upstairs of the
Stormy's building (formerly the old JC Penny's building). In April of
1998, she moved her quickly growing business to 142 E 2nd Street which the newly remodeled Cameron Hotel building on the four lanes in Winner and expanded
the rental business into a floral and gift shop as well. She continued to
run the rental, floral and gift businesses from this location until December of
2001. After outgrowing their space at this location, Kaye decided to
purchase a space of her own. She purchased the building (built in 1965)
that once held the Rutherford Drug, Burns Drug and Lucky 7 restaurant
businesses. After completing a total renovation and remodel of the
building, K's was now moving from a space of only 1500 square feet to a space of
5000 square feet. Although the floral and gift store was doing well, Kaye
saw a need in the Winner community and decided to start a sports store.
After another small remodel in September of 2006, K's O'Kasions expanded into
K's Floral and Sports.

Due to the success of the two areas of her business, Kaye decided it would be
beneficial to have a manager for each of them. To compensate for the need,
she hired Kathy Calhoon to manage the floral portion of the business and she
hired her daughter, Mardi Pederson, to fill the manager position on the the
sports end. K's Florals and Sports currently employs 15 people.
